Kimi’s 5-Bullet Aloha Friday (Last One of 2017!)

Happy December! New month and almost the end of another year. With all the holiday happenings, Best Life Ever business shifts and growth we’ve been focused on, our Shift to Rise retreat, and #allthethings, I have really been feeling the need to get centered.

Listening to this calling, I declared today, “Get Yo’ Shit Together Friday” and did a total brain dump (using Trello of course!) and a deep calendar review.

When I start feeling overwhelmed and my ego starts in with that old limiting belief, “I don’t have enough time”, instead of hustling HARDER like I used to, I now work on SLOWING DOWN. I create white space by clearing my calendar (that meant saying NO to a few things today), turning off notifications, and then I ask myself some simple questions like:

  • What’s REALLY bothering me?
  • What is most urgent/important?
  • How can I make my life easier?
  • How can I get ahead/hook up my future self (HUMFS)?
  • What does my spirit need most right now?
  • How can I create more ease, joy, fun, and FREEDOM in my life?
  • And probably the most important question – What can I say NO to?

Your ego will try to tell you that you don’t have time to slow down, but your spirit will speak to you when you do, and life will become much more clear.

Less hustle, more alignment.

One of the things I’m cutting back on for the rest of this year is certain forms of tech and communication, which is why this will be my last post until sometime in new year! I’lll be dropping back in once the dust settles after the holidays, but you can always follow me on Instagram, our Best Life Ever Tribe on FB and our BLE IG, etc.

OK, so here we go – our last 5-bullet Aloha Friday round-up of 2017!

5 things I’m loving/excited about:

Have a wonderful holiday season! I encourage you to create some time to slow down and ask yourself some quality questions that will improve your quality of life and bring you some well-deserved peace and joy as we move into 2018! Cheers and GINORMOUS hugs!

Ask Yourself This Question to Bring More Mindfulness to Your Time + Energy

Kimi’s 5-Bullet Friday

Happy Aloha Friday! It’s been another full week of stretching, learning new tech tools, growing our business, and coaching clients. With a very full schedule, I’ve been extra mindful to stop and ask myself one of my favorite questions for managing my time + energy: “Is this a good use of my time?” This simple question is a powerful hack for snapping yourself out of Facebook rabbit holes, silly low-level tasks, and those ego-driven moments of trying to figure something out on your own when you could just ask someone who knows (hello, tech support). Give it a try! As you go about your daily tasks, set a timer to periodically ask yourself, “is this a good use of my time?” The answer may be YES, it may be NO, but the real power is not in the answer, but rather the habit you’re creating of bringing mindfulness to how you’re spending your precious time and energy!

And now for 5 things I’ve been enjoying and pondering:

  • What I’ve been talking a lot about lately – Weekly Planning. This is one of the most impactful habits I have and something we recommend to all of our clients. Weekly planning is so powerful and it’s a great tool not just for individuals, but for partners, teams, and families. Check out our podcast episode about this!
  • What I’ve added to my wellness routine – Awaken.yoga. Online yoga + meditation classes created by my friend Shannon and 2 other awesome yogis. I’m obsessed! Great routines to start your day, to restore mid-day, or to add to your evening routine. Embody your body and tune in to your highest self!
  • Quote I’m pondering – “If we don’t change what isn’t working in our lives, we will continually have the same day over and over again.” – Daily Om
  • Podcast I’m loving  Kwik Brain. I love this podcast from Jim Kwik!!! Bite site brain hacks for busy people who want to learn faster and achieve more. So good!
  • What I’ve been eating – Super easy quinoa chili. I made a version of this with kidney beans instead and just cooked it on the stove. Super simple, delicious, and great for cozy nights and the leftovers are great for lunches. Top it with organic sour cream, avocado, fresh herbs, and tortilla chips! Yum!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend. I currently have just 1 spot available for one-on-one coaching. I’m holding space for the PERFECT client: a fun, high-performer ready for deep accountability and support to reach their goals. Someone ready to master productivity, time + energy management so that they can serve at the highest level. Someone ready to take things to the next level physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually in this last quarter of 2017.

If this is you or someone you know, let’s talk!

P.S. Shift to Rise! Early bird rates for our Shift to Rise retreat are open until the end of November & room reservations are first come, first served! If you feel even a little pull to find out more, apply today! Your application is an invitation to a conversation with us. It is neither a commitment to attend nor does it guarantee you a spot at our event. It’s an opportunity for us to get to know you and hear more about your goals, as well as a chance for you to ask us any questions you have about the retreat. We’re so excited!

Are you Comfortably Uncomfortable?

This has been a weird week with lots of heavy energy in the air. Hope you all are doing OK and that you’ve gentle with yourself as you process all the emotions that may have been coming up for you this week. Consider a little extra self-care this weekend.  Slowing down, meditating, journaling, getting out in nature, and talking with a trusted friend, mentor, coach or counselor can all help. Take a few moments to ask your inner wisdom what you need most right now.

And now for 5 things I’ve been enjoying and pondering:

  • Quote I’m pondering – “If you don’t take action, don’t expect change” from this awesome article about why the majority of people don’t reach their goals (they are “comfortably uncomfortable” in their current circumstances). So good!
  • App I’m (still) loving – Funny Movie Maker! This past week I rediscovered this hilarious app on my phone. Our family has been having fun sending ridiculous messages to each other with photos of our pets talking. It’s the best thing ever.
  • Service I’m grateful for – Upwork. This global freelancing platform has 12 million(!) registered freelancers and allows you to interview, hire and work with freelancers and agencies through their platform. We’re working with a wonderful SEO/wordpress expert from India name Soni who is doing an incredible amount of quality work for us for $100. We’ve used Upwork for all kinds of projects such as PDF and eBook creation, graphic design – the possibilities are endless!
  • Cool network I love – NextDoor.com This is the free private social network for your neighborhood community. I love being plugged in to all the happenings in my neighborhood and being able to post/comment/direct message neighbors. Makes me feel safe, connected, and supported in my ‘hood.
  • Supplements I’m obsessed with – Ciltep, Dopamine, and MycoMind from Natural Stacks! We were sent some samples from this amazing company and OMG my brain has been ON FIRE! Taken in the morning on an empty stomach, these natural brain optimization supplements clear up brain fog and supercharge memory, motivation, focus, and creativity!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Remember, don’t let being “comfortably uncomfortable” in your current circumstances stop you from reaching your goals. If you want to take your life to the next level, ask yourself what NEW action, big or small, you can take TODAY.

And if you want an objective perspective, powerful accountability, and would like to save time, energy, and stress in the pursuit of your goals, reach out to me. Time is a precious resource that we don’t get it back. Let’s get you to where you want to go.

5-Bullet Aloha Friday

IMG_0126

So…I turn 42 on Sunday. Forty freakin’ two. In many ways I still feel like I’m 22, but thank God I’m not the 22 year-old me anymore. I’m so grateful for all growth, clarity, awareness, strength, and grit the past 20 years of life experience has given me. If I were to go back and give 22 year old me some advice, I’d tell her to find a mentor, take up jiu jitsu, invest in Apple, read more, and give less of a f*ck about what other people think. But mostly, I’d just let know that it’s all gonna work out because, as my friend Tarah likes to say, “you literally can’t screw this up.” At times, it might feel like we’re “screwing up” in life, but we’re always experiencing exactly what we need to (see Eckart Tolle #truthbomb below). This weekend, as you do your weekly planning or journaling, ask yourself the question: “What bold action would you take today if you knew that you couldn’t screw up your life?” You might be surprised at what your heart has to say.

A list of what I’m enjoying and pondering…

  1. Quote I’m pondering: “Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you are having at the moment.” – Eckhart Tolle
  2. Course I’m signed up for: This FREE course from Bentinho Massaro. The 40-Day Redesign is a free initiative to support as many people as possible in their journey to realizing what’s truly in their Heart/Soul. We want to bring your light to Earth and co-create an Enlightened Civilization (or simply: A Happy Planet)!
  3. What I’m teaching my teenage daughter: T.H.I.N.K. before you post on media. I’ve been teaching her (and reminding myself) to slow down and ask before posting – Is it true? Is it Helpful? Is it Inspiring? Is it Necessary? Is it Kind (This is a great reminder for all of us lightworkers and soul-based businesses wanting to share with authenticity, integrity, and intention)
  4. What I’ve had to do for myself lately: Write an “I done this” list at the end of the day to put things into perspective. I recommend this tip often to my high achiever clients. Writing a daily “Ta Da” list instead of a “To Do” list is great when we’re feeling like we’re not getting done as much as we want to, but we have the sneaking suspicion that we’re dealing with a bit of Superhero Syndrome (trying to do more than humanly possibly in one day). Simply take a few moments at the end of the day to write out all the things you got done…you’ll probably go to bed feeling a lot more proud and less anxious.
  5. App I’m loving: Calm. I feel like I’ve tried every meditation app on the planet. I find this one simple and easy to use.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Life is precious and we have a limited time on this planet, so take some bold inspired action and have some cake and champagne this weekend (I know I will!)

And if you’re a leader, healer, or lightworker looking to take your business and life to the next level, book a conversation with me here. A single conversation can lead to powerful transformation. Here’s what one amazing client shared after completing her program with me:

“Having the opportunity to have Kimi as my coach has been such a positive and invaluable experience. It has allowed me to trust my feelings and follow my heart. Thank you so much, Kimi! “- L

I’m humbled and honored to be able to be of service in this way. I love this work and would love the opportunity to help you figure out your next steps to greatness.

The Power of Stillness

stillnessAs we gear up for the holidays, here is my #1 strategy for making the most out of the holiday season:

I create time everyday to be quiet and still long enough to hear my inner wisdom.

Simple, but powerful. Our inner wisdom, guidance, and inspiration are like butterflies. All we have to do is be still enough and they will land right on our nose.

The crazier, and louder life gets, the more we forget that we get to create our reality and that we have access to guidance and support any moment we choose to slow down, take a deep breath, and listen.

You don’t need a 90 minute yoga class or a meditation retreat to access your inner guidance system, frankly all you need is 5 minutes on the toilet or in the car. Your inner wisdom doesn’t need any fanfare or fancy rituals. Simply get quiet and ask for guidance. That’s it.

Lately my inner wisdom has been encouraging me to take sexy BOLD action, to express myself out loud (my fears, my wishes, my gratitude), and to take more unplugged walks with the dog in nature.

Start with just a few minutes of stillness and watch how this one small commitment transforms your day and your holiday season.
